Tiddalick the Frog: A Dreamtime Story Explored Through Drama and Storytelling
Introduce your students to the beloved Dreamtime story of Tiddalick the Frog with our engaging Sydney primary school incursion.
This interactive workshop uses drama and storytelling to bring Tiddalick the Frog to life, offering a creative and respectful exploration of its meaning. Perfect for Early Stage 1 to Stage 1 students, this experience fosters curiosity, collaboration, and a deeper appreciation for shared stories.
Designed by qualified and experienced educators, this workshop is carefully aligned with curriculum outcomes, ensuring it not only entertains but also supports key learning objectives. Students will actively participate in role-playing and storytelling, immersing themselves in the lessons of this timeless tale while connecting with the broader themes of cultural heritage.
Students recreate the outback and re-enact the story using costumes, music and drama. All students have two costume changes in the one hour session and can be kookaburras, koalas, cockatoos, kangaroos, wombats, emus, frilled-necked lizards and eels.
To extend the learning, we provide follow-up resources allowing teachers to build on the workshop experience in meaningful ways.
While led by non-Indigenous educators, our program is designed with utmost respect and aims to nurture understanding and appreciation of Indigenous Australian culture and stories.
