Step back in time with Terra Australis Oi Oi Oi, an engaging historical incursion that brings Australia’s rich and diverse stories to life.

Designed by qualified, experienced teachers, this interactive workshop uses drama and storytelling to immerse primary school students in pivotal moments like the Eureka Goldrush, early settlement and other significant Australian events.

Aligned with curriculum outcomes, this incursion offers a dynamic way to explore Australia’s history, fostering a deeper understanding of key events between the Landing of the First Fleet and Federation.

Students will actively participate in re-enacting key events, learning about diverse Australian stories and understanding the people who shaped our nation.

In this fast paced engaging incursion events covered include the hardships of the goldfields, Eureka Stockade, early explorers and the capture of Ned Kelly.

How does it work?

A Drama Toolbox primary school incursion brings one of our expert teachers to your school for a dynamic, 1-hour session with up to 30 students.

Students perform short scenes in small groups using dramatic techniques such as slow motion, mime, still frame snapshots, sound effects, dialogue and improvisation.

The costumes and props such as miners, explorers, police, camels and the Kelly Gang brings Australian history to life.

Follow-up resources and activities are included.
