Exploring sustainability through the Habitat Helpers Incursion for Prep to Year 2
Habitat Helpers offers an engaging sustainability incursion designed for Melbourne primary school students. Led by an experienced teacher, our sustainability incursion brings real-world environmental issues to life. Students will explore global ecological challenges, such as pollution, deforestation and overfishing, while discovering their role in creating positive change.
In this interactive incursion, children will become Habitat Helpers, assisting Earth Girl or Earth Guy to tackle local and global sustainability issues. Through the use of drama and dramatic techniques they will reflect on how they engage with the world and take informed actions to support a more environmentally and socially just future.
Our incursion has clear curriculum links and includes follow-up resources to continue the learning beyond the workshop, making it perfect as an introduction or follow-on to lessons on sustainability, recycling and environmental responsibility.
