The Drama Toolbox now offers an exciting range of unique dramatic play hire packs. You can hire soft furnishings and puppets to enhance role play and oral language skills. Packs can be hired for 3 week or 6 week periods.
We have 4 different types of hire packs:
- Fairy tale packs containing puppets and costumes to play out popular fairy tales.
- Dress-ups for home corner based on our drama workshops. (Approximately 6 costumes in each pack)
- Christmas Concert hire. (30 costumes for a 3 day hire period)
- Soft furnishings and puppets. Each soft furnishing pack includes 4 European cushion covers and 6 contrast scatter cushion covers in a related thematic print, 3 or more exquisite puppets that tie in with the children’s interest and 2 material wall hangings. This is fantastic for creating stunning home and book corners. Some packs also have additional curtains for creating an enclosed see-through corner. Please note that cushions are not included, only the covers.
How It Works
You book your nominated three week hire starting on a Monday and finishing on a Friday. We send off your hire pack on the first day of the hire (Monday) via Australia Post “Express Post” next day delivery (guaranteed next day delivery prior to 5pm). Your box or bag will contain the hire equipment and a checklist. On the 2nd last day, (Thursday) you hand the same box/bag over the Australia Post counter before 4pm with the pre-paid label we prepare for you. That’s it. We wash and maintain the packs.
Interstate Hires
Interstate hires are all 6 week hire periods. You nominate your desired hire period and we will firm up your booking. All hires are required to be paid for including the refundable bond prior to delivery. Additional postage costs will be incurred. We will liaise with you directly on these using Australia Post costs as a guide. The refundable Security Bond is $100 for all interstate hire bookings and is returned to you within 5 working days after the goods are returned to our office using our pre-paid hire system.
2012 Hire costs
3 week hire periods : $150 plus gst
6 week hire periods: $275 plus gst
Bonus hire scheme: $695 (includes gst and bond)

Christmas Concert Hire Options
30 costumes for 3 days
We can provide your centre (in Melbourne metro only) with a range of costume hire options to relieve the end of year pressure. You provide the script, the children and we provide the costumes, which ensures all the children will want to be centre stage!
Christmas concert hire packs are for a 3 day hire period which includes delivery and pick up for Melbourne Metro areas only. Each hire pack has up to 30 costumes and the cost is $195 plus GST and a $35 refundable security bond.
The “Animals Christmas Hire Pack” has 14 different Australian animals that you could use for songs, or for acting out unique Australian bush stories. Costumes include emus, kangaroos, joeys, frilled neck lizards, wombats, kookaburras, koalas, platypuses, cockatoos, echidnas, a dingo, a numbat, a bilby and a blue tongue lizard. (Great for “Wombat Stew” and “Wombat Divine”)
Our “Fantasy Circus”, ”Dinosaurs”, “Minibeasts”, “Journey Into Space” and “Under the Sea” drama workshop costumes are also available for your creative script writing. Even shy children will want to be part of the Christmas play with these costumes. (Please note, music and mats are not included.)

Perfect for investigating relationships of self, family, community and pet ownership.
Pack includes: Baby, Jack Russell Terrier, Yorkshire terrier, guinea pig, lop eared rabbit, brown tabby cat, black and white kitten and a mouse in a shoe (total of 8 puppets provided).
Aesop’s Fables
Puppets from 6 much loved fables teaching values of friendship, truth, caution, contentment & perseverance. Fables include: “The Hare And The Tortoise”, “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”, “The Lion And The Mouse”, “The Crow And The Pitcher”, “The Town Mouse And The Country Mouse” and “The Fox And The Goat”. (11 hand puppets provided)
