Drama Workshops

  • Our drama workshops consolidate and integrate classroom studies into the “Victorian Essential Learning Standards” drama and dance disciplines.
  • During the workshops children use dramatic techniques to create, explore and develop the ideas.
  • A qualified and skilled drama specialist facilitates the workshops at your school, library or centre using a variety of costumes and other props.
  • A distinctive feature of our workshops is the wide range of music styles used including classical, rock, big band and synthesizer music. Each child gets the opportunity to dress-up twice in a session.
  • Workshops cater for up to 30 children per session and run for 1 hour at your school, library or centre.
  • Suitable for Prep to year 6 children.

Cats acting like mice! Mice acting like cats! Fairytale Land characters on a journey across cold mountains to find items for the spell to return Fairytale back to normal

Children explore the imaginative and creative world of fairytales in this fun drama workshop. During the workshop children enter into Fairytale Land where things are not what they seem! A terrible spell has been cast on Fairytale Land where mice roar and dragons flee, wolves snort and pigs huff and puff! Minibeasts

Beautiful butterfly preparing to fly off a flower Grasshoppers making music with their legs A dragon fly in the garden looking for water

Children discover the delights of wriggling like a worm, crawling like a slater and marching like an ant. We use the elements of sun, water and soil to discuss camouflage and predators. Beautiful costumes and delightful music help children explore the environment around them.

Costumes provided include butterflies, dragonflies, ladybirds, slaters, spiders, grasshoppers, worms and caterpillars.

Journey Into Space

Children rocketing into space Astronaughts taking photos of Venus to take back to earth Ice crystals on Neptune

This exciting space adventure starts on planet earth where children discuss and discover the solar system. Imagination, drama and a 30ft rocketship launch the children into space and travel the galaxy. During their travels, children visit two distinctly different planets. Space-age music and costumes allow children to re-create these planet environments and compare them. Our fabulous 30ft rocket ship then propels the group back to earth.

Costumes provided include astronauts, stars & moons, lightening, sulphuric gasses, ice & crystal and dark storm.

Circus

A trapeze artist doing tricks on the tight rope Prancing ponies doing tricks for the audience Tigers in their cage

Children love the circus with the Big Top, clowns, lions and elephants. The thrill and excitement of actually being in the circus will provide a sense of magic for children participating in this drama workshop. No longer will they be in the audience, instead they will have a chance to leap daringly like a trapeze artist, roar like a lion, cavort like a clown and sway like an elephant!

Costumes provided include prancing ponies, lions, tigers, elephants, clowns and trapeze artists.

Under the Sea

Jiggling jellyfish under the sea A diver swimming to the surface Seaweed swaying with the current

The “Under The Sea” workshop allows children to immerse themselves into creating, making and presenting an undersea cavern filled with jiggling jellyfish, darting rainbow fish, dolphins, swaying seaweeds and opulent octopuses. This drama workshop culminates in a story about polluting the oceans with rubbish.

Costumes provided include octopuses, rainbow fish, dolphins, seaweeds, divers and jellyfish.

Jungle Animals

Iguanas creeping through the leaf litter on the jungle floor Macaws flying through the tree tops of the jungle Jaguars putting their jungle gifts on the shaft light gleaming through the tree tops
